Kodachrome Basin State Park. We left Cedar Pocket campground in the Virgin River Gorge Arizona strip area. Drove North on I-15 to the State road 9 going to Hurricane. I mentioned to Jeanne and Joe that we will be traveling through Hillsdale and Colorado City, two towns bordering Arizona and Utah. Polygamy towns. Weird to see homes unfinished, looks like going on 30 years or more. Certain Mormon groups are pros at ripping off the government. They live on welfare and we, the taxpayers foot the bill for them. And they are conservative’s. Yes sir, they are republicans. Enough talk about weird folks. Driving on was Fredonia, AZ. Stopped at a Sinclair gas station, circa 1930’s. Very cool old gas station. The kicker is that […]
Heading to Zion National Park to camp. After leaving Las Vegas having sold the teardrop. I am traveling up the I-15 to Utah. Well, who should pass me by – Ed and Theresa towing their new teardrop (my teardrop), waving and smiling as they pass. Very cool!! I go to Zion National Park and it is full. Oh crap! Now what. There is nothing. So I go back to Cedar Pocket campground in the Virgin River Gorge area. Cool place to stay. There, I met up with Joe and Jeanne Hitchman. My friends from Oak Grove. We are hanging out at Cedar Pockets because it is spring break and Easter week. This otherwise empty campground is now pretty full because of the holiday and all. […]
My Teardrop trailer is sold. Well today Friday April 15 is a great day. I found a wonderful new home for my Teardrop trailer. They are a wonderful couple who will get much pleasure camping with this puppy. Here are some snaps of my little teardrop leaving Las Vegas on the way to a new home. It is now time to continue my travels with a stop at Zion National Park.
Calico Ghost Town camping. Wow, I had a blast camping with the Las Vegas Dutch Oven cooking society at Calico Ghost Town in San Bernardino county, CA. Near Barstow off of I-15. I got there late. But it was still a lot of fun. Everyone was busy cooking up some fabulous meals. Each was given a different ingredient to use in their dish. A la “Chopped” on the Food Network. You can view some of the wonderful food in the photos. Be aware – the campground is less than stellar by a long shot. But – the companionship and the food were wonderful. A fun trip not soon forgotten. Plus Calico Ghost Town is a hoot. You must see at least once in your lifetime. […]
Last night kicking back in my little trailer. Watching “Dead men don’t wear plaid”. An old Steve Martin movie. Very good!
