Wine Club tasting.

August 29, 2011 admin 0

Went to a great wine tasting at the “Wine Club” yesterday. Napa wines were lined up. Not a bad way to enjoy wine and people on a hot day in So. Cal. The Wine Club is a great little wine store on the Santa Ana/Tustin border on McFadden Ave. When in the area I would recommend stopping by and tell them you heard about their store on Ramseystravels.com.

Taking the Skutumpah road

August 14, 2011 admin 0

Yesterday Aug. 13th, 2011 Debbi, Annie (her dog) and I drove the Skutumpah road from Cannonville, UT to Kanab, UT and had a blast. The GPS unit showed us the way all the way to kanab. This is a dirt trail with no civilization around for miles and miles. Every once and a while you might see a ranch way out there. I would not think of going anywhere without my Garmin GPS. Highly recommend this unit.   The canyon narrows are amazing. You can hike down into them. Make sure you know the weather and check with the rangers in Cannonville visitor center before going down into the depths. Bryce-in-background-2.jpg This is looking at Bryce Canyon from the bottom. Fantastic road to take providing […]

Hiking the Red Canyon Trail

August 6, 2011 admin 0

Hiking the Red Canyon Trail. This morning I took off and hiked a trail I always wanted to hike. I drove just up the road from the Red Canyon Campground to the Red Canyon Trailhead. Parked the car and started off with a 35 to 40 lb. pack. Brought water and snacks. Plus camera. I was wearing hiking shoes. You really need hiking boots half high style to get through this trail. The reason is it is a horse trail. Horse shit everywhere. The first mile was fine. I took the Rich Trail fork and then it got tough. The trail is rock strewn because of the horse’s. It is not kept up at all. I had just sprained my left ankle three weeks ago […]

Cedar mountain area.

August 3, 2011 admin 2

On the way to Cedar City, Utah, I drove to Panguitch lake and Cedar Breaks National Monument today. A great drive. The campgrounds at Panguitch lake leave a lot to be desired. Theft of generators, trashy people. The campground at Cedar Breaks, Point Supreme is quite nice even though the site are a bit crowded together, but you can still find a nice site. White Bridge campground is between Panguitch lake and the town of Panguitch. It is a very nice secluded little campground with a wonderful stream next to most of the sites. Great for trout fishing. The flowers were kicking butt at Cedar Breaks as you can see in my photos. Enjoy. A number of years ago, I took my Mom up the […]
