I just got back from driving in to Blythe, CA for a shopping spree at Albertson’s Market. It is only 20 miles from my campsite. Now back to fine tuning my blog screw up. Update photos. Not to bad. It could have been a lot worse to have lost the whole blog.
One beat up cactus. While walking around the campground area this evening a couple of images appeared.
After having been here a few days I must say I am really starting to dig Quartzsite, AZ. It has a certain funkiness about it that makes it appealing in a weird sort of way. Lots of old timers interspersed with hippies. Interesting. There are lots of places to camp. The couple that I shared Christmas diner with yesterday did not register and have been in the 14 day camping section for 21 days so far. And their motor home is one of those $500,000.00 buggers. Noticeable in terms of size. The ranger comes by and checks and does nothing. Very cool. Some others have been there for over a month. Maybe because the area is pretty empty for now. You can get a long-term […]
Yesterday, I left Ken and Alice in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA – Orange County. I had a wonderful time while there. Ken and Alice are a great couple. Fun to be with and we have like minds. We have a blast watching the news programs. Drives us nuts. While there we stopped at a great little wine bar in San Clemente. It is located on Avenida Del Mar in the downtown area. Fun place. We ordered a flyte of four reds and a plate of cheese. Delicious is all I can say. Go there yourself and enjoy a hour or two tasting wines. Prices vary depending on what you order. It was a very pleasant day to drive down the 10 Freeway. Once past Palm […]
Just up the road 2 miles is this cute little shop to check out. She has a used collectables store with home made foods, veggies, folk art, paintings, jewelry, cool aprons, etc. When in the area check it out.
I left the Lake Mead area. I really like Lake Mead. Nice camping without the crowds this time of year. Boulder City is only 5 miles away. You have a Starbucks, Albertsons, and Vons Markets. And a couple of neat little restaurants in the vintage downtown. There is also a great little laundry too. Showers available at the city pool. $ 2.00 for a shower. Pretty good deal. Oak Grove is where I have landed for a few days. I have a photo shoot to attend on Dec. 18th. After that I think Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument is the next destination and beyond. Anyway here are two couple that are at Oak Grove in their vintage 3. The first on is a 1955 […]
Richard and Laura with their new Yurt type of tent. Hanging out at Lake Mead. Here we are all together again. This is where I met them almost one year ago. Amazing they are still traveling in a tent. Keep it simple. But you guys-once you get a trailer you will not want a tent again. Woof, woof!!
Camped at Lake Mead. I was sitting in camp and from my chair had to take a shot so you can enjoy the beauty after a storm blows through. Had a hell of a storm blow through. My, my that was hairy. Now it is nice and beautiful. Enjoy.
