The crowds are dwindling.

January 29, 2012 admin 5

Yea, the crowds are leaving. It is getting nice again. You can drive around and not take forever to get there. I decided to go out and try a local diner and came to La Casa Del Rancho. It’s on Hwy 95 just north of Main St. Funky looking place. Wasn’t  sure I wanted to go inside. The entrance is really weird. I ordered chicken enchiladas. They were very good. Each enchilada was stuffed with nice white chicken breast. I would go back for that. I can’t speak for the other food on the menu. Home

RV Show – The Jokes on me.

January 24, 2012 admin 2

Quartzsite is packed. A very crowded town. Just to get around town this week is a real pain in the ass. This morning I went to the RV show to see what it is all about. Well, it is about selling lots of junk. I never saw so much stuff for sale. Now that is not to say there might be something you might need and find it here. You would never know there was a problem with our economy looking at all the very, very large people looking around and buying this stuff. To help add to their buying pleasure you can buy all the fat food you want. Booths with every imaginable kind of fat greasy food you can think of and more. […]

Wind in Quartzsite, AZ

January 22, 2012 admin 1

Man oh Man! It blew so hard last night I thought it was going to blow my trailer over. I stayed freaked out until Midnight or so. Could not believe I was able to sleep. This morning is beautiful. As I was taking my morning walk finally I talked to some of the other trailer campers and they all said the same thing. We all thought that was the big blow over for us all. Then it was over and all is well. Crazy! I think tomorrow I am going to move off the hill and down the road about a mile. A bit closer to town. Then I think I will go to the big MOFO RV trailer show. I will be looking specifically […]

All kinds of stuff.

January 20, 2012 admin 0

The other day I found I had to go to Parker, AZ to the bank. Parker is about 35 miles north of Quartzsite. Easy drive on Hwy 95. They have Walmart, Safeway, banks, medical, etc. In other words lots of stuff. I recommend it over Blythe. Yesterday while working with my Macbook pro laptop the computer screen went blank! No power coming in to the computer. Weird. I was able to restart and continue, but with out power to charge the battery. I was able to make an Apple store appointment online for today at 10:15 AM. It is a 125 mile drive. But I need my Mac for work. I left early with a beautiful cup-o-joe. Got there and sure enough it was the […]

The local coffee house in Quartzsite.

January 18, 2012 admin 1

This is where you have to go if you want a nice cup-o-joe. Great little place. On a side note. I know that in America we have a serious problem with obsiety but I have never seen such obese people in my life all it seems in one place. The only exercise they get is walking around the flea markets eating all the junk food they offer. Holy crap.

I thought I would show you my camp in the long term area of Quartzsite, AZ. I am still close to the flea markets and the big RV show that is coming up. Neighbors are few. That is great.

The Grubstake Social Club in Quartzsite, Arizona

January 14, 2012 admin 0

I spent the morning looking for geocaches. Found four today. The first find was about 520 meters away from my campsite. The cache is in the photo below. Guess where? Then on to more finds and the last one ended up at the photos below. The Grubstake is a great place to find a cache and kick back and hang for awhile. Anyway I found the cache and went in to check the place out and was pleasantly surprised to find two lovely young lady’s serving. Hell of a selection of beers. Hot damn. They have Arrogant Bastard Ale on tap for god’s sake!  Woof, woof!! Hoot, hoot, and all that. Had one with some soup. Good lunch. I have to come back to try […]

Sisters on the Fly in Quartzsite, AZ.

January 13, 2012 admin 2

Wow! I was just driving down the Dome Rock road heading towards Quartzsite just coming back from shoping in Blythe, CA – and lo and behold I see a bunch of Vintage trailers all parking in a group off the side of the road in the free camping area. Me being the shy person that I am drove over there and started introducing myself and asking if I could take photos of their trailers. “No problem they all replied.” So here are some cool shots of cool ladies and their cool trailers. Woof, woof, love it.

Eating at the Flea markets.

January 12, 2012 admin 0

While wandering around the flea markets in Quartzsite, AZ. you will notice a lot of food venders. I am sure there are a lot of good ones, but here is one I recommend. I stopped for a breakfast burrito and wow, what a burrito. It was delicious!! Woof, woof! If the rest of their menu is as good as the burrito all I can say is I will have to find out. Since the food is not all that good for you health wise, it means that you can’t eat there all the time. The one below with Pitas, Gyros, Philly Steak & Cheese is the recommended one. The one at the bottom is not great at all. I mean I went there a number […]

Geocaching.

January 12, 2012 admin 2

For the past couple of days I have been learning about and searching for Geocaches in the Quartzsite, AZ area. What fun. You search for a cache of something and sign in when you find it and report it to the http://www.geocaching.com web site. This is a world wide fun hobby for those who like to be in the outdoors and want to get exercise at the same time. You pack for a typical hike. Water, snacks, etc. plus your cell phone with a GPS Geocaching APP. There are many apps out there to download but I found the best one is the Geocaching web site’s app. I downloaded it to my Android cell phone. It was $10.00 but hell you pay more than that to […]
