The Samsung Galaxy S3, my new upgrade. My old Android Incredible mobile that was on a two-year Verizon contract died on me just two months after the contract expired. I ordered through Amazon a new Samsung Galaxy S3 phone with new contract while camped at Lake Mead using my Verizon MiFi card for wireless internet. I saved $30.00 ordering through Amazon. The order process was quick and easy. As if I was ordering from Verizon. Bing bang and done. As I stated the Android Incredible was acting up and then kept getting worse day by day. While driving to Orange County for a photo shoot the phone just up and quit. When I got to my good friends home the new Galaxy S3 mobile was […]
Canyon de Chelly, AZ. The idea came to me when the snow started falling. It is time to leave Mesa Verde National Park. After a day of rain, hail, and now a smattering of snow and cold. Definitely time to split and go to Canyon de Chelly. The photographs are my take on what I see. Click on images below to see larger image. All images taken with Sony NEX-5n with 18 to 55mm lens. Now it is on to Canyon de Chelly, AZ. Small roads with no pull outs all the way there. Bummer. The town you come to before entering the park is Navajo Indian lands. It is obvious that the federal government doesn’t much care what happens to the Indians. They live […]
Mesa Verde National Park. More images. Ancient cliff dwellings. What a beautiful morning for a cup of joe. Actually every morning is a good morning for a cup. Getting a bit nippy in the air at this time of season. After having coffee and logging on to my Mac and taking care of a little business, I packed my Sony NEX-5n camera and then off to Far View Terrace for breakfast with a truly far view. Wow. The view seems to go forever. The breakfast is buffet style or order what you want for a little more money. The buffet is not a bad breakfast for a I must say. The price is not to bad for breakfast. Plus there is a Starbucks coffee inside the […]
Mesa Verde National Park. On my way this morning. Leaving the beautiful area of Moab to head out to Mesa Verde National Park. Had to get the famous Hole in the Wall images. The campground at Mesa Verde is ok. Not the best for sure. But I like the crowds – practically empty. Tomorrow I head out to photograph some of the famous cliff dwellings.
Zion National Park getting crowded. Change of camping plans for Zion National Park. It is getting crowded now. You never know the changes a full campground can make. I was planning on camping for a few days in Zion National Park – Watchman campground with electric hook-ups for $9.00 a night with senior pass. Sorry not available for the time I wanted. Shit! Change to plan B? What! I was looking forward to Zion though. Damn! OK plan B is after Mesa Verde head on over to Canyon de Chelly National Monument. Spend a couple of nights. Drive on to Homolovi State Park near Winslow, AZ and spend the night. Then drive on up to Boulder Beach campground at Lake Mead, NV. Perfect plan B. […]
A dead town west of Grand Junction, CO.. The other morning I decided to make a scenic drive through Hwy 128 and head east to Grand Junction. Well let me say now that Grand Junction is not much to look at. Just a lot of stores to spend your money. I should have only gone half way then turned around before driving the distance. Shit!! At about the half way point the end of Hwy 128 there is a ghost town called Cisco. Creepy place!! Kind of like a dust bowel type of thing. It looks like people just up and left. Spooky. Great images to be found there. Then you would just turn around and head back down Hwy 128. That would be the […]
