Zion Canyon Brewing in Springdale, Utah. You might want to go elsewhere. – I just stopped at this place to give it a try. Springdale in the little town just before you go into Zion National Park. I did notice that there were a number of negative comments about this place on Yelp. I still like to go and find out if they are right or is there anything good about the place. First off the beers are 3.2 to 4.0 %. I thought that was a joke. No sir he said. That is pretty childish! Strike one. One would have to drive to Moab, UT to get a good micro brew, or all the way to Salt Lake City area. Wow, pretty staggering. So I […]
Roasting coffee beans on the road. Here is another way to save money – a lot of money. When you add it up, lets say 1 lb of coffee beans from the store is about $14.00 and in a coffee house from $12.00 to $20.00 per lb. How much do you spend on coffee per month. After roasting the coffee beans I fresh grind my beans for the absolute best flavors I can get. First you go to a thrift store and see if you can score a cheap popcorn popper for about $5.00. The popper must be of the swirly sides kind. Not the ones that have a screen on the bottom. If you can’t find one that way you can go to Amazon.com and see […]
Things found while roaming. While traveling around one finds images that just stand out. But first you have to take time from your busy life and wander. Wouldn’t it be nice if you just took off from your hectic job and said “I am leaving to wander for a while”. When you do it you find things. Some pleasant things for me for example is this old truck. I look at this and imagine what it must have done in its lifetime. Where did it go, what did it haul, who drove it. What was going on back then. The town of Fredonia is small now, I wonder how small it was then. Take some deep breaths, close your eyes and imagine. Not hard to do once you […]
River Rock Roasting Company. If your plans include a trip to Zion National Park you more than likely will drive past this place. In Utah the majority of people are not into coffee for religious reasons? How could that be when coffee is good for you. Little by little more and more open-minded people arrive and it gets better. Well here is one place you should stop and check out. The view is really great. Good food and good coffee as well. Coffee is few and far between in Utah. Great visuals as the town and surrounding area are old and very cool. So check it out and enjoy. Images taken with Samsung Galaxy S3 and Sony NEX-5n tweaked in Lightroom 5.
