A glass of wine.

January 29, 2015 admin 0

A glass of wine. Tonight I felt like a glass of wine or three and a light snack would do just nicely. I went to the State Liquor Store and picked out a nice Zinfandel from Castle Rock Winery that I thought would do nicely @ $10.99. A good price for a delicious wine. I wanted to go for a more expensive wine with a hell of a lot more flavors and boldness but this fit the bill for tonight. Let’s call it a taste test. I picked up some multigrain crackers, Philadelphia cream cheese and Jalapeno Pepper jelly. Great combo with the wine. Cheap entertainment for a person on a budget.

Get great glasses cheap.

January 22, 2015 admin 0

Get great glasses cheap. I read an article from http://lifehacker.com/5157425/save-bundles-of-cash-by-buying-eyeglasses-online. Check it out. I subsequently went to Zenni Optical online and ordered a pair of glasses. It is very easy to order online. You will need your prescription. They have easy to follow videos to help along the way. It makes it very easy. They have hundreds of frames to choose from starting at $6.95 and up. I love my glasses. It took me about two and a half weeks before I received mine in the mail. I was very anxious about this whole thing. Wow, they fit great the optics were great. Overall I love it and saved about $400.00 from buying at Walmart or my optician.   I am looking ordering more because they are […]

Roasting some French Roast Blend.

January 11, 2015 admin 0

Roasting some French Roast Blend. The past couple of days I have roasted some French Roast Blend from #Sweet Maria’s. This stuff tastes wonderful. I roast on my Gene Cafe roaster and grind the beans with #Capresso grinder. One thing learned about roasting your own beans is freshness. As you can see in the image of the #Aeropress the bloom is amazing. It seems to fill up the Aeropress practically to the top. Now that is fresh coffee. Old stale coffee doesn’t do that which means that the flavors are gone pretty much. The Aeropress also cleans up so simply too.

Home roasted French Roast Blend.

January 9, 2015 admin 0

Home roasted French Roast Blend. Today I roasted some French Roast Blend from Sweet Maria’s. Turned out beautiful. Now to wait a day or more. I prefer to wait about 3 days before I make a cup of joe. But since I am almost out I will shorten the wait time. After 3 days it just gets better tasting. I use the Aeropress as my go to brewer most of the time. One thing a person notices with fresh roasted coffee is the bloom. It is gigantic because of the freshness of the roast. Old beans will not have much of a bloom and or taste.
